About the minor scale
The minor scale, also called natural minor or Aeolian mode, follows the pattern W H W W H W W. It shares its notes and key signature with the relative major a minor third higher. Melodies in minor often raise the 7th (harmonic minor) or the 6th and 7th on the way up (melodic minor).
